How To Shut Down Windows 8

Many people want to know how to shut down Windows 8. You would think that is a simple task, as in previous versions of Windows we had always had the start menu with a shut down, restart option. Now the Windows 8 shutdown problem is causing stress for the new users of this operating system.
How to Shut Down :
1) Firstly we will need to access the Charm bar which is a fancy name for a menu. You can do this by moving your mouse to the lower right corner of the screen. The menu will then slide out.
2) When the Charm bar appears click on the Settings icon. See the arrow pointing to the settings icon below.
3) When the settings appear, click on the Power icon.
4) Now you will be able to choose to either Sleep, Shut Down, Update, or Restart.
So that is how to shut down Windows 8. In this world of gadgets and technology, this is definitely not faster or easier to do than the previous versions of Windows.
A shortcut for shutting down your windows 8 :
1) Navigate to the location where you want to create the shortcut, right-click and go to New > Shortcut.
2) For location of the new shortcut, enter the following command:
shutdown /s /t 0

3) Click Next, and name the shortcut as Shut Down (or anything you like).
Now, if you want to pin it to taskbar, right-click the new shortcut and pin it to taskbar, based on your preference. Afterwards, next time whenever you want to turn off your PC, just click the shortcut, and the shutdown process will immediately begin. Alternatively, if you want these shortcuts on your start screen, then simply right click on the shortcut and click on Pin to Start.
